Once in our Brain Fitness Program, you will meet with our Brain Coach and learn how to memorize a random list of 28 items. Patients who practice these skills at home and after 2-3 sessions feel quite confident about their memory.
Some patients, such as those who had concussion in the past, require more training than others to enhance their brain function. We offer an internationally recognized 3-month "Cognitive Skills Training" program to help them return to their baseline mental capacity. As a part of this intensive rehabilitation program, they will meet face-to-face with three psychologists twice a week.
For patients who have insomnia, migraine, or attention deficit disorder, we provide neurofeedback threapy to improve their memory and brain function at a faster rate. The neuropsychologist in our team uses the information from Brain EEG Mapping to enhance the performance of specific brain areas for individual patients.
Changes in Medication
Sometimes poor brain function maybe due to suboptimal blood flow to the brain or other medical conditions. Based on information from cardiovascular fitness testing, review of medications, and a thorough physical examination, we will make suggestions on interventions that will improve your overall health and longevity.
Stress Reduction Therapy and Classes
Stress is a major factor that damages the memory parts of the brain. We provide individual and group stress reduction classes and training.
Meditation has been shown to reduce stress and enhance brain function. The memory parts of the brain may actually increase in size with regular mindful meditation. As such, we provide individual and group meditation therapy and classes.
Treatment for Insomnia or Sleep Apnea
Sleep is a key factor for optimal memory and brain function. We work with two sleep specialists to evaluate and treat any of your sleep issues. With their interventions, you can improve the quality of your sleep and feel much sharper within weeks.
